Tuned and checked on the day it ships. Every order carries free transit insurance, and we film your actual instrument playing before it is packed.

How this works: no payment is due yet. We'll confirm availability, the final shipping cost and payment details by WhatsApp (preferred) or email within 1 working day.

A five string designer tanpuri, dark finish, 40 inches. The fifth string gives you an extra drone note, which is useful if you accompany in more than one key without retuning.

Open the packing as soon as it arrives so the instrument can air and settle into tune. Keep it away from direct heat and damp.

Our largest instruments, full-size tanpuras and surbahars, travel as dedicated freight rather than at a standard rate, so their shipping is quoted individually.

Payment is by card link for orders up to $700, or bank transfer for any amount. Import duties, where your country charges them, are payable on delivery and are not included in the price.

Surpassed all expectations

I was thrilled to receive the special Tanpuri from Tabla Sitar / Maharaja Musicals by special courier today, perfectly packed.

The piece surpasses my expectations and is of the most beautiful design and finish, the workmanship sublime.
Despite some unavoidable delays in shipping due to the time taken to create this masterpiece, the team at Tabla Sitar kept me fully informed every step of the way and responded promptly to all my queries.
They were also very helpful in allowing me to change my order and add a case and extra strings prior to shipping.

I look forward now to learning and using this exquisite instrument under the expert loving guidance of Nitya Mohan Mataji who will be conducting a music workshop at our yoga centre in Perth in November. See, https://www.kookaburrayoga.com/yoga-programs-with-nitya-mohan.html

My thanks to all at Maharaja Instruments, the craftspersons who created the instrument and the team at Tabla Sitar and in particular Aman who went to great lengths to ensure all went smoothly.
