About this JAYANTA SENGUPTA SITAR – No. 558
This Jayanta Sengupta Sitar is of studio quality and good for any serious player. It has a magnificient sound as you can see in the video below. Its all tuned and ready to play. The synthetic bridge produces excellent and very rich sound.
This Sitar has been designed according to Villayat Khan Style & hence, it contains 7 Main Strings & 12 Sympathetic Strings along with a single toomba which is made of gourd. This Sitar is about 51 inches in Length and weighs around 4 KG. This Sitar has been specially designed using very special and thoroughly dried Tun Wood. You will be delighted to know that the master craftsman Sengupta had made few sitars for the Maestro Villayat Khan himself.
The mother of pearl work and the inlay work gives it that elegant Villayat khan style look which goes beautifully with the rosewood color. It is accompanied with Mizrabs & Extra Set of Strings. We have included a high quality Fiber Trolley worth $300, which can be very handy to transport this Sitar.
